Walter Kotz

Walter Kotz (born August 19, 1911 ; † unknown) was a German football player.

Career

As a flexible defensive all-rounder, Kotz belonged to the Stuttgarter Kickers , for whom he played point games from 1930 to 1932 in the championships in the Württemberg / Baden district league, Württemberg group, in the championships held by the South German Football Association .

For the 1932/33 season he moved to league competitor VfB Stuttgart , for which he played for one season in the Württemberg / Baden district league, Württemberg group. From 1933 to 1945 he was in the Gauliga Württemberg , in one of initially 16, later increased to 23 Gauligen at the time of National Socialism as a uniform top division in the German Empire , although the last season was no longer due to the war.

During his club membership he won the Gaume Championship four times and consequently took part in the final round of the German Championship in 1934/35 , 1936/37 and 1937/38 . He was used in the first two games of Group D and in the final, which was lost on June 23, 1935 in Cologne against FC Schalke 04 in a high-scoring encounter 4-6. Two years later he played five of six games in Group C , as well as the semi-finals he lost 2: 4 against FC Schalke 04 on June 6, 1937, and the game he won 1-0 against Hamburger SV on June 20, 1937 3rd place. In the following season he played all games in Group C again and was eliminated from the competition in third place.

In the national cup competition for club teams, the Tschammerpokal , he was used in a total of twelve games from 1936 to 1938, 1940 and 1942, but never beyond the quarter-finals , which he only reached on November 14, 1937.

After the end of the Second World War , he completed seven point games for VfB Stuttgart in the Oberliga Süd, which was introduced in 1945 and was the first in Germany , before ending his career in 1947.
