Walter Lobenstein

Walter Lobenstein (born August 6, 1930 in Hanover ) is a German writer , poet , essayist and editor . He lives and works in Hanover.

Life

Born yet at the time of the Weimar Republic and the school went to the National Socialist era , Walter Lobenstein founded after the Second World War in time of the economic miracle of the young Federal Republic of Germany "in 1950 the Hanover branch of the World Youth Friendship League ". In the same year, together with Kurt Morawietz , he published the leaflet entitled The youth has not been asked .

In 1951 Lobenstein, again with Kurt Morawietz, co-founded the Junge Literaturkreis , from which the magazine die horen emerged in 1955 . A few years later, based on an idea by Rainer Maria Rilke , he founded Wegwarten , a literary magazine that was supplemented with artistic images and has since been published by him . In 2008 the artist , who lives in Oberricklingen, was honored with the Ricklinger Bürgerpreis .
