Walter Nikusch

Walter Nikusch (born August 10, 1908 in Leipzig , † April 1, 1987 in Kassel ) was an expressionist German graphic artist , book designer , curator and painter .

education

Walter Nikusch studied from 1924 to 1930 at the Leipzig Academy with Georg Mathéy and Walter Tiemann . From 1934 to 1937 he lived in Frankfurt am Main . In 1937 he moved to Kassel. In 1948 he was a member of the exclusion from work for the re-establishment of the KasselerKunstVereins under the leadership of curator Herbert von Buttlar and was curator and managing director of the KasselerKunstVereins from 1949 to 1976 . In 1953 he created a fresco on the outside of the Kassel Luisenschule.
