Walter Richard Evans

Walter Richard Evans (* 15. January 1920 in St. Louis , Missouri ; † 10. July 1999 ) was an American theorist of control technology , which in 1948 the root locus method for graphical stability analysis of control circuits developed. In 1987 he was awarded the Rufus Oldenburger Medal by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) .

Evans graduated from Washington University in St. Louis , the specialist electrical engineering and graduated in 1941 with a Bachelor (BS) from. Several professional activities followed, including at General Electric . In 1951 he earned a Masters (MS) in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles . He worked as an engineer in the field of control engineering theory at various companies such as Rockwell International , and Ford Aeronautic.
