Walter Robert Lach

Walter Robert Lach , also Robert Lach (born June 26, 1901 in Vienna ; † April 8, 1971 there ) was an Austrian cameraman and film producer .

Life

He attended the agricultural college in Vienna and began a traineeship with director and producer Jakob Fleck in the early 1920s . As a second cameraman, he was involved in several productions at Vita-Film during this time.

In 1925 he worked as co-cameraman alongside Guido Seeber in the classic Die joudlose Gasse . Lach then went to Berlin and worked three times for Georg Wilhelm Pabst , but also for several other directors. In 1934 he left Germany and filmed in the Netherlands and Austria.

From 1941 until the end of the war he worked for the cultural department of Wien-Film . In 1947 he founded the production company Hoela with Walter Hoessig , which mainly produced cultural and documentary films. He was married to the actress Olga von Togni .

Walter Robert Lach was buried in the cemetery of the Simmering fire hall (Department 1, Group 8, Ring 3, Number 81).
