Walther Hille

Walther Hille (born May 24, 1894 in Bischofswerda ; † May 6, 1945 in Stromberg (Bendorf) or Wiesbaden ) was a German lawyer, police officer and SS leader.

Life

Hille finished his school career in 1914 in Dresden at the Wettiner Gymnasium and then studied law at the University of Leipzig . In August 1914 he volunteered for the Saxon army and took as a soldier of the Infantry Regiment. 102 on the First World War in part. After the war he was discharged from the army and joined the Saxon police . Hille was first in Zwickau and from 1927 on at the Dresden Police Department , where he was first the Hundredschaftsführer and then headed the 1st police station. In this function he was already in close contact with the Dresden National Socialists and informed them about upcoming police actions. From 1924 to 1926 he was a member of the Stahlhelm .

After the National Socialist " seizure of power ", Hille was provisional for a few months from March 1933 and then officially until the end of August 1938 police chief in Dresden. He was then commander of the West Group of the Hamburg police station and, after being promoted to colonel in the police force, from the beginning of May 1939 to the end of April 1941, he was the commander of the Munich protection police force and then local inspector of the police force . Promoted to major general of the police in April 1942, he was in command of the Ordnungspolizei (BdO) in the military district of Posen from September 1942 to mid-December 1943 and then in Wiesbaden .

Hille, a member of the NSDAP since the beginning of May 1937 ( membership number 3.805.269) and in mid-April 1943 was transferred to the SS with the rank of SS Brigade Leader (SS No. 456.959 V), was taken over by the higher SS and Police Leader Jürgen in October 1944 Stroop was fired from office and later retired.

Even before the war he was in mid-April 1945 American internment fall. The circumstances of death and the exact place of death are unknown.
