Warnfried Dettling

Warnfried Dettling (* 1943 in Kuppenheim , Baden ) is a German political scientist and publicist .

Dettling studied Political Science , Sociology , Classical Philology and Philosophy at the University of Würzburg , the University of Freiburg im Breisgau and at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences and was awarded an MA in 1981 at the University of Freiburg with an investigation into the distribution of power between Members and officials of trade unions for Dr. phil. PhD .

From 1973 to 1983 he was first head of the planning group, later also the main politics department in the CDU federal office, then until 1991 ministerial director in the federal ministry for youth, family, women and health. 1991–1992 he was head of the policy department in the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry under Erwin Teufel (CDU).

Dettling lives as a freelance journalist in Berlin and in the Lower Austrian Waldviertel .

He is married to the genealogist and Baden-Württemberg State Councilor Gisela Erler .
