Wassila Bourguiba (* 1912 as Wassila Ben Ammar in Béja ; † June 22, 1999 in La Marsa ) was the second wife of the Tunisian President Habib Bourguiba and the first lady of Tunisia from 1962 to 1986.

Habib Bourguiba married Wassila on April 12, 1962, after his first marriage, to Mathilde Lorain, had been divorced on July 21, 1961. Wassila came from an influential Tunisian family and was the aunt of Tarak Ben Ammar . Over time, Wassila Ben Ammar gained great political influence as the sick and aging President Habib Bourguiba gave her more and more responsibility in state affairs. Their influence took Wassila Ben Ammar, for example, to Yasser Arafat and the headquarters of the PLO in Tunis to grant refuge after these 1982 Beirut had to leave.

Habib Bourguiba announced his divorce from Wassila Ben Ammar on August 11, 1986 while his wife was in the United States . Wassila Ben Ammar then settled in Paris . After her divorced husband was deposed as Tunisian President in 1987, Wassila Ben Ammar returned to Tunisia in 1988. After that she did not exercise any political influence.
