Wassili Sergejewitsch Komlischinsky

Vasily Sergejewitsch Komlischinski ( Russian Василий Сергеевич Комлишинский ; * 1785 in Charkow ; † 1841 ) was a Ukrainian - Russian physicist and university professor .

Life

Komlischinski, son of a top officer (14.-9. Rank Class ), 1796-1804 attended elementary school Kharkov and then studied at the newly founded University of Kharkov Imperial when he 1808 Candidate of Sciences left the first candidate vintage. From 1809 he gave a lecture on the basics of mathematics . In 1810 he became a teacher of mathematics and physics at the Chernigov grammar school .

In 1811 Komlischinski returned to Kharkov University and directed the physics course. In 1812 he received the Master - degree and was an adjunct at the Department of Physics. He translated Ferdinand Giese's General Chemistry from German , which appeared in 5 parts in Charkow from 1813-1817, and Giese's work on the manufacture and purification of saltpetre . In 1813 he was to defend his dissertation De polarisatione radiorum luminis for Doctor of Science doctorate. In 1818 he became associate professor and in 1821 full professor. He read about theoretical chemistry and meteorology and headed the physics laboratory. In the series of lectures at the University of Kharkov, he gave the lecture on non-aqueous precipitation in 1818 .

1822-1828 and 1833-1836 Komlischinski was dean of the Department of Physics and Mathematics of the Philosophy Faculty of Kharkov University. In 1833 his work on the hail and hail workers was published in Kharkov . In 1836 he became rector of the university (with a one-year term of office) as the successor to Johann Christian Kroneberg . In 1837 Andrei Fjodorowitsch Pavlovsky took over the office. Komlischinski worked as an assistant to the librarian of the Kharkov University library from 1837 and retired in 1840.
