Watchdogs Legion (stylized: WATCH DOGS LΞGION) is an open-world - action-adventure game from Ubisoft . It will be released on October 29, 2020 for PlayStation 4 , Xbox One , Google Stadia , Microsoft Windows and later this year for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X as well . It is the third part of the Watch Dogs series .

The setting is a dystopian London after England left the EU . There is a dictatorship in power . Police and military force are used effectively against adversaries and drones keep things in order. The decline of the British pound and the rise of a cryptocurrency also caused economic problems. A hacker collective called Dedsec is now trying to oppose this rule. The aim of the game is to regain control of London.
Gameplay
The player can freely explore the city and take control of most of the people in the city. In this sense, there is no actual protagonist as the player can play multiple characters. If a character dies, it is no longer playable and the player has to fall back on the next best character on his team. Each character has its own skill tree , an individual daily routine and a background story. A new player is almost always added to the team by completing a mission. As soon as an NPC has been accepted into the team, the character can be divided into three classes (attacker, burglar and hacker). There should be a total of 5 storylines with about 60 missions and there is no lack of a co-op mode. The title can be played with up to 3 friends at the same time, which unlocks specific missions for this mode.

The game was first mentioned by Ubisoft on June 5, 2019. It was presented in more detail at the Ubisoft E3 press conference 2019, where the release date was also announced. The game is currently being developed by Ubisoft Toronto and will be released for the Google Stadia cloud gaming service in addition to PlayStation 4 , Xbox One and Microsoft Windows and will support ray tracing .
