Wayne Allwine

Wayne Anthony Allwine (born February 7, 1947 in Glendale , California , † May 18, 2009 in Los Angeles ) was an American voice actor and noise maker . For Disney he spoke the voice of Mickey Mouse from 1983 until his death .

Life

Wayne Allwine had been with Disney since 1977. He initially worked as a spokesperson for the series The New Mickey Mouse Club . Since 1983 he has spoken, as the third speaker after Walt Disney himself and Jimmy MacDonald, the voice of Mickey Mouse in film and television productions as well as in computer games. In addition to synchronizing, he was also active as a noisemaker and sound designer. His work included The Black Hole , Psycho III and Star Trek V: On the Edge of the Universe .

Allwine received an Emmy Award and Golden Reel Award for his contributions to Steven Spielberg's television series The Twilight Zone ( Amazing Stories ) and another Golden Reel for The Great Mouse Detective ( The Great Mouse Detective , 1986). In 2008 the Disney studios named him a Disney legend .

Allwine was married to Russi Taylor since 1991 , who dubbed Minnie Mouse .
