Reviews
On November 4, 1988, critic Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times that the film was confused. The writers had a message to convey, but no idea how to do it. Of the actors, he only praised Jason Robards.
“Impressively played melodrama, which increases dramatically after a somewhat tough beginning. A very conservative film in terms of social dimensions, which portrays female self-realization and motherhood as incompatible. "
