Wayne Artman

Wayne Artman (born November 24, 1936 - November 9, 2006 in Beverly Hills , California ) was an American sound engineer .

Life

Artman began his career in 1973 with Hall Bartlett's literary film adaptation of The Seagull Jonathan . Starting with the Woody Allen comedy The Straw Man to Last Boy Scout - The goal is survival , he worked for a quarter of a century with the sound engineer Tom Beckert , they worked on more than 50 joint films by 1991. In 1988 , together with Tom E. Dahl and Art Rochester , they were both nominated for an Oscar in the Best Sound category for The Witches of Eastwick .

From the mid-1990s Artman shifted his focus of work to television, where he participated in numerous series and television films . He was nominated for the Primetime Emmy for the first time in 1993 for the miniseries Frank Sinatra - The Way to the Top , and a second and final nomination came in 1996 for the television film The Honor to Fly .

Artman retired from the movie business in 2000 and died in Beverly Hills in 2006 at the age of 69.
