Weilermerkingen (Swabian: "Weilermirgna") is a suburb of Dorfmerkingen , a district of Neresheim .
Location and transport links
Because Ermer Überkingen is located north of the town center of Neresheim and west of the district Dorfmerkingen and the county road connected K 3296 to the traffic.
The hamlet lies on a plateau of the Swabian Alb , the Härtsfeld .
history
The history of Weilermerkingen is closely connected to the history of Dorfmerkingen. The Lords of Merkingen owned two places east of their ancestral castle, the village of Merkingen (Dorfmerkingen) and the hamlet of Merkingen (Weilermerkingen). In 1298 Weilermerkingen was mentioned as Merchingen minore (small Merkingen), in contrast to Merchingen maiore (large Merkingen).
In 1872 the place had 117 inhabitants.
