Excursions may be organized as part of the project week. In the so-called SmS week (students go to school) immediately before the summer holidays, students attend courses that are offered and led by other students. Once a year there is an open day at the Weinberg-Gymnasium. At the school's annual Christmas market, musicians from grades 6 to 12 present pieces of music.
Student exchange
Since 2001 there has been a student exchange with the German School Budapest, the Thomas Mann Gymnasium. The exchange takes place twice a year with 20 9th grade students from Budapest who speak fluent German. Every year in September, the students of the Weinberg-Gymnasium go to Hungary. The return visit will take place the following June.
A student exchange to France took place in April and June 2013 with the Bossuet Notre-Dame school in Paris . Grade 9 pupils also took part in this exchange. The Kleinmachnow students visited Paris in April, and the return visit took place in June.
Working groups
Due to the natural science profile of the school, working groups are primarily offered on these subject areas. The chemistry, biology and physics working groups successfully took part in further competitions, for example the Chemistry Olympiad of the state of Brandenburg. In addition to the natural science orientation, the school also offers the opportunity to participate in artistic and performing work groups. Since 1991, the Theater am Weinberg has presented performances by the school theater, some of which are nationwide. The actors from the Weinberg-Gymnasium successfully took part in the school theater of the federal states in Hamburg in 2009. In 2007, the musical-technical area was expanded by a band that performs music from the Irish Folk genre .
