Weinberg is a district of the city of Winterthur . Together with the quarters of Oberfeld , Lindenplatz , Niederfeld , Neuburg , Hardau , Härti and Taggenberg , it belongs to District 6 ( Wülflingen ).

geography

Weinberg forms the north-eastern part of the Wülflingen district, the built-up part of which lies at the foot of the Wolfensberg . It includes the part north of Wülflinger- or Salomon-Hirzel-Strasse and east of the A1 motorway. The district also includes a large part of the Lindbergwald with the eponymous vineyards on its slopes.

The Oberfeld and Lindenplatz quarters are to the south of Weinberg, and the Taggenberg district to the west. To the east, Weinberg borders the urban district of Veltheim - for the most part the Rosenberg district and, to a lesser extent, the Blumenau district . In the north, on the other side of the city limits, is Ohringen, which belongs to the municipality of Seuzach .

The children in the neighborhood attend kindergarten and primary school in the Talhof school complex, the upper school in the Oberfeld district south of Wülflingerstrasse. There are secondary schools in the city center.

The Winterthur branch of the Strickhof agricultural school is located in the western part of the quarter .

Transport links

The railway line Winterthur – Schaffhausen , which runs through the quarter, leaves Winterthur without stopping in Wülflingen. Trolleybus lines 2 (Wülflingen – HB – Seen) and the supplementary line 2E (Schloss – HB – Waldegg) run close to the railway line and run along Wülflingerstrasse and connect the quarter with the main station at regular intervals. On weekends, the N67 night bus (Winterthur - Neftenbach - Pfungen - Dättlikon) runs along Wülflingerstrasse.

From the point of view of private transport, Wülflingerstrasse is also the main access artery that leads via Salomon-Hirzel-Strasse to the Winterthur-Wülflingen motorway junction at the southeast corner of the quarter.

Culture and leisure

The Wolfensberg with the Chöpfi sandstone formation is ideal as a local recreation area . Wülflingen Castle with its restaurant is also interesting .
