Weinhex

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Weinhex is a large location in the German Moselle wine-growing region . It belongs to the Burg Cochem wine-growing area . Until 1971, the name Weinhex was only used in popular parlance and had no legal meaning. By renaming the cadastral location Heideberg, the name Weinhex was first entered in the Weinbergrolle in 1971. It recalls the witch trials that are said to have killed nineteen people between 1631 and 1656.

Single layers

Special

Every wine that has been harvested in these individual layers may bear the name Weinhex, but without the name of the place in front. Only the Winninger winegrowers are allowed to label their wine with the name Winninger Weinhex.

The Winninger Weinhex has existed since an appearance at the Winninger Festival in 1950. It has developed into a symbol of Winning.
