action

The film takes place in the fictional Canadian location “Weedsville”, in German “Hanfdorf”. The two casual crooks and junkies Dexter and Royce owe their dealer Omar. He offers the two of them to accelerate the repayment of the debt by selling his drugs. However, when they are “tasting” the heroin together with their friend Mattis, they consume all of the goods, which results in Matilda's death.

In order to still get the money for their dealer, the two decide to steal from the rich ex-hippies Taylor.

The corpse of her friend, who they hid in an old drive-in theater, is discovered by satanists and used to worship devils. But it turns out that Matilda is still alive. She manages to escape the Satanists and joins her two friends.

In addition to Omar, who has since lost patience with his outstanding debts, the Satanists are now also persecuting the group. Taylor, who is looking for his stolen safe, also joins the pursuers. The three find support at short notice in a group of small hobby role-players, with whose help they succeed in the end to stand up to their opponents.

Reviews

“Fantastic plot twists, shrill characters and absurd ideas that would have been enough for two or three films mean that there is little boredom in this detective comedy with a love story, horror icing on the cake and dwarfs in knight armor from the not particularly hardworking, but when they are active, then mostly also interesting director Allen Moyle ('Pump Up the Volume'). Scott Speedman ('Underworld') and Wes Bentley ('American Beauty') convince as slackers with a heart in a black-humored thriller with cult potential. "
