Weischwitz is a district of the municipality Kaulsdorf in the district of Saalfeld-Rudolstadt in Thuringia .

Weischwitz is located west of Fischersdorf in the hilly foreland of the Thuringian Forest on the foothills of the Southeast Thuringian Slate Mountains on soils with high soil fertility. A one and a half kilometer long local connection road to federal highway 85 connects the place with traffic. The hills and mountains around the place bear mixed forests.

The village of Weischwitz was first mentioned in a document on March 28, 1281. Enclosed on three sides by the Leutenberg area of ​​the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt , Weischwitz belonged to the Saalfeld office of the Duchy of Saxony-Saalfeld and Saxony-Coburg-Saalfeld . From 1826 to 1918 Weischwitz belonged to the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen ( Saalfeld district ). Weischwitz was hit by the persecution of witches in 1679 . The farrier Andreas Enders got involved in a witch trial and was beheaded.
