The Weitenbach is the river of the Weitental in the Lower Austrian Waldviertel .
The Weitenbach rises west of Gutenbrunn in the Weinsberger Wald as an outflow of the Stifterteich (whose source brooks arise at 950 m altitude south of it), first flows in an easterly direction to Martinsberg , then swings to the south and overcomes an altitude difference of around 200 meters in the short Hölltal . In the subsequent Weitental it flows through Pöggstall , then Weiten and flows into the Danube in Weitenegg . Since the construction of the Danube power station Melk , the Weitenbach has flowed into a branch of the Danube.
