Wellsboro is a borough in Tioga County in the north of the US -amerikanischen state of Pennsylvania . Wellsboro is located approximately 80 miles (129 km) northwest of Williamsport. Wellsboro is on Route 6 , which runs through northern Pennsylvania in a west-east direction. Wellsboro is located in the Pennsylvania Woodlands, a very scenic part of Pennsylvania.
history
Wellsboro was founded in 1830 and has long served as a trading post for the entire region. Wellsboro was named after Mary Wells, the wife of one of the first settlers, Benjamin Wister Morris. According to the US Census, Wellsboro had a population of 3,328 in 2000.
