Wenzel Köhler (politician)

Wenzel Köhler (born June 16, 1906 in Beschau , Bohemia, † December 16, 1987 in Donauwörth ) was a Czechoslovak and German politician of the GB / BHE and the GdP . From 1950 to 1962 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .

Köhler attended elementary school in Neusattl (Nové Sedlo u Lokte) and the Czechoslovak state secondary school in Loket , after which he completed an apprenticeship as an electrician and completed two years of active military service. In 1938 he was elected mayor of Neusattl, which was occupied by the German Reich through the Munich Agreement . After completing a series of specialized courses in local government, he was confirmed as a full-time mayor. In 1941 he went to the Second World War as a soldier , he was in Greece , Crete and Africain action, most recently as a sergeant major. In 1945 he was taken prisoner by the British.

After the war he helped found the BHE. In the GB / BHE he was a member of the Federal Committee and the State Committee for Bavaria. He was the first chairman of the Swabian District Association and the Donauwörth District Association . He was also a member of the Central Association of Expelled Germans and the Sudeten German Landsmannschaft .

From 1950 to 1962 Köhler was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament, elected through a mandate in the constituency of Swabia. From 1954 he was a secretary to the Presidium of the State Parliament. In his last term (since 1958) he was chairman of the Submissions and Complaints Committee.
