Wenzel Weber , from 1851 knight von Ebenhof (born September 25, 1781 in Eben bei Schüttenhofen , † February 21, 1865 in Prague ), was a Bohemian administrative lawyer .

Life

Weber was the son of a freeman . He first attended the school in his hometown, then the grammar school in Budweis and then the University of Prague , where he studied law and philosophy . In 1809 he entered the civil service, but was immediately called up for service in the coalition wars. After his return he became gubernial concipist, rose to district commissioner and gubernial secretary. His appointment as Gubernialrat took place in 1832. At the same time, he was District Chief in Chrudim . In 1849 he retired . He was also the director of the secondary school in Leitomischl .

Weber did a great job expanding the roads and railways. He also promoted the construction of school buildings and the expansion of the school system. In the revolution of 1848/1849 in the Austrian Empire , he also made a contribution to maintaining order. By Emperor I. Ferdinand he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Leopold excellent. In connection with this he was raised to the nobility with a diploma from December 13, 1851 with the predicate Knight of Ebenhof .

Weber was buried in Prague with great sympathy. Previously, he had adopted his nephews, whereby the nobility passed to them with imperial approval. These nephews included the governor Philipp Weber von Ebenhof and the doctor Ferdinand Weber von Ebenhof .
