Werner August von Elverfeldt

Werner August von Elverfeldt (born September 16, 1740 ; † February 3, 1814 ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman, privy councilor and canon in Münster , Paderborn and Hildesheim .

Life

Werner August von Elverfeldt came from the Rhenish - Westphalian noble family von Elverfeldt . He was the son of Friedrich Christian von Elverfeldt and his wife Maria Victoria von Wolff-Metternich . His brother Clemens August (1732–1783) was a chamberlain from the Electorate of Cologne . Werner August completed a biennium (prerequisite for a clerical profession) in Reims and received a cathedral preacher in Münster through his brother Clemens August's resignation . With regard to the election of the prince-bishop in 1762, he renounced in favor of the canon Karl Arnold von Hompesch . In return, he received a prebend in Paderborn , which August Wilhelm von Wolff-Metternich had waived. He came into the possession of a Hildesheim prebende in 1768. He was archdeacon in Alfeld and in 1802 dean of the collegiate monastery St. Andreas in Hildesheim. In Paderborn he was President of the Chamber and from 1792 to 1800 cathedral waiter. From 1801 he was subdeacon and provost of the Busdorf Collegiate Foundation .
