Werner Boie (officer)

Werner Boie (born May 19, 1913 in Barsfleth ; † March 21, 2012 in Plön ) was a German officer .

Career

From 1942 until the end of the war, Werner Boie was head of the Foreign Air Force East division within the Foreign Armies East division under Reinhard Gehlen , and from September 1943 in the rank of Major i. G.

In the organization Gehlen , the forerunner of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND), Boie was from 1949 to 1955 Head of the Air Force Evaluation Unit. After the founding of the Bundeswehr , he rejoined the Air Force and was, among other things, commander of the Air Force Training Regiment  2, Chief of Staff of the Air Force Group North and Head of the Military Attaché Staff in Washington, DC He was Brigadier General from 1963 and from October 1, 1969 up to after his retirement on March 31, 1973 head of the Armed Forces Office .
