Werner Glogauer

Werner Glogauer (born December 21, 1925 in Wansen , Lower Silesia , † October 1, 2013 in Augsburg ) was a German educator and professor at the University of Augsburg .

Life

Glogauer studied education , psychology and literature at the Philosophical-Theological University in Regensburg and the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich . He attended the teacher training institute in Straubing and passed the first teaching examination for elementary school service in 1950 and the second teaching examination in 1952. He did his doctorate under Martin Keilhacker with a study of role models and models of film in adolescence . In 1980 he became a professor for school education with a focus on general didactics at the University of Augsburg . He was the author of the history book We Experience History .

Research focus

Glogauer researched and published on didactic topics as well as on the topic of "violence in the media". Glogauer had been appointed several times in high-profile processes as an expert on media violence. The media pedagogue repeatedly caused a stir with the thesis that violence in the media could have an impact on child behavior.
