Werner Gollert

Werner Gollert (born January 20, 1900 in Neuruppin ; † March 6, 1961 in Oldenburg ) was a German architect and government master builder .

Life

Werner Gollert studied architecture at the Technical University of Charlottenburg (TH) and the University of Berlin and received his diploma from the TH on April 15, 1922 . In May 1925 he passed the major state examination at the Technical Higher Examination Office in Berlin and then became a government master builder in the Prussian State Building Administration . As such, he worked at the Prussian building authorities in Beuthen and Prenzlau .

After the National Socialists seized power , Golltert moved to the Reich Aviation Ministry in 1935 , where he was promoted to head of the Air Force Construction Administration . Here he was in frequent contact with the architect Ernst Sagebiel, among others .

In 1945 Gollert became a prisoner of war .

After his release from captivity, Gollert took over the management of the building construction department in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Finance on July 1, 1948 until the end of his life in 1961 . During this period he worked closely with the Hanoverian building administration under the city planning officer Rudolf Hillebrecht with regard to the planned state buildings in the course of rebuilding the current state capital of Hanover.

From February 18, 1955, Gollert also took on an honorary professorship in Braunschweig at the technical university there . A good year later, on June 29, 1956, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Technical University of Hanover.

Werner Gollert died on March 6, 1961 in a traffic accident in Oldenburg.
