Werner Grau (Mayor)

Werner Albert Grau (born December 7, 1939 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) is a German local politician and former First Mayor of Heilbronn .

Life

Grau was mayor of Unterrot from 1966 to 1971 and mayor of Besigheim from 1971 to 1991 . From 1992 to 1999 he was the First Mayor of the City of Heilbronn for Economics and Finance. His tenure in Heilbronn in particular was shaped by his commitment to the business location. He has succeeded in establishing this as an independent location alongside Mannheim / Ludwigshafen and Stuttgart . Grau was particularly committed to the Heilbronn tram .

In his private life, Grau likes to play the piano and musically accompanied the Heilbronn cabaret group Die Hegelmaiers during their performances on the Heilbronn theater ship . From 2003 to 2010, Grau was chairman of the Heilbronn Orchestra Association, which carried the Heilbronn Chamber Orchestra of Württemberg .

Honors

On December 29, 1999, Grau received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon. Since January 2010 he has been an honorary citizen of the city of Besigheim.
