Werner Kuchar

Werner Kuchar (born March 25, 1971 in Griesbach , Bavaria ; † September 17, 2013 in Passau ) was a German Roman Catholic priest and writer .

Career

Werner Kuchar, who grew up in Passau, attended the Regensburger Domspatzen music high school from 1981 to 1990 . After graduating from high school, she attended the seminary and studied Catholic theology in Passau. After receiving his diploma in 1995 and a pastoral internship in Frauenau was born on 13 February 1999, Kuchar Passau Cathedral for ordained priests .

Parallel to his ecclesiastical career, Kuchar pursued musical training, including studying singing. From 1996 to 1998 he completed additional training in Integrative Music Therapy at the Fritz Perls Institute in Hückeswagen .

After his ordination, Kuchar worked as a chaplain in the parish associations Osterhofen -Altenmarkt from 1999 to 2005 and from 2005 to 2008 in Zwiesel -Ludwigsthal. During this time he was also a member of the Episcopal Commission for Liturgy and Church Music. From 2002 to 2005 he was also a pastor at the educational center of the Landvolkshochschule St. Gunther Niederalteich .

In September 2008 Kuchar became student pastor at the University of Passau and cathedral vicar . At the University of Passau he held courses on the subject of music-oriented Bible study . Since December 2009 he was also the prison chaplain of the Passau JVA .

Even before his ordination, Werner Kuchar wrote his first book, which was followed by numerous others. His publications deal predominantly with the organization of church services, especially with children and young people .

On September 17, 2013, Kuchar was found dead in the rooms of the Passau Nikolakloster ; he killed himself after asking for mercy for those who take their own lives in his final written and oral statements.
