Werner Protzel (born October 5, 1973 in Rosenheim ) is a former German football player and coach .
Player career
societies
Protzel began playing football at SV Tattenhausen , a club in the Rosenheim district, and in 1988 moved directly to the youth department of FC Bayern Munich . Out of adolescence, he moved up to the second team and was used in the fourth-class Bayernliga , and from 1994 in the third-class Regionalliga Süd . He was also used in six games for the national club cup .
For the 1997/98 season he was obliged by SV Waldhof Mannheim , with whom he rose to the 2nd Bundesliga at the end of the following season as champion of the Regionalliga Süd in 1999 . In his first season he was used in 31 of 34 league games and scored seven goals. He made his professional debut on August 20, 1999 (2nd matchday) in a 4-0 win at home against Chemnitzer FC , and scored his first point goal on October 29, 1999 (10th matchday) in a 4-3 win at home against the Stuttgarter Kickers with the goal to 4: 2 in the 84th minute. In the following season he played 17 games and scored one goal. He played his last second division game on May 13, 2001 (33rd matchday) in a 2-1 win in the away game against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen . He also played nine DFB Cup games in which he scored two goals.
Two years later he was signed by the Stuttgarter Kickers, who had been relegated to the Regionalliga Süd . For the 2003/04 season he moved to the Rhineland-Palatinate upper division club SV Weingarten , a year later to the Baden-Württemberg upper division SV Sandhausen , which he left during the current season. From then on he played for the association league club FSV Oggersheim , with whom he rose to the Oberliga Südwest at the end of the 2004/05 season .
National team
Protzel was used seven times for the U-15 and 15 times for the U-16 national team.
Coaching career
After the season he acted as a player -coach at VfB Leimen and moved to VfB Mannheim-Gartenstadt in 2007, where he trained the A-youth.
