Werner Schröder (judge)

Werner Schröder (born May 9, 1916 in Rittmarshausen near Göttingen; † June 25, 2010 ) was a German lawyer and judge at the German Federal Social Court from 1968 to 1979 .

Schröder grew up in Lower Silesia and graduated from high school in Guhrau . After military service in World War II, most recently as a major, studied law at the University of Göttingen. He was a member of the Corps Hannovera Göttingen . After completing his legal training with state exams in 1949 and 1953, Schröder worked from 1955 as a judge at the social courts of Braunschweig and Hildesheim and as senate president at the regional social court of Lower Saxony in Celle .

On August 28, 1968, Schröder was appointed judge at the Federal Social Court. Until his retirement in 1979 he was a member of the 5th Senate (responsible for matters relating to miners 'pension and health insurance, accident insurance for mining and workers' pension insurance), of which he had been deputy chairman since 1971.

During his tenure, he was also Speaker of public relations and journalism of the Federal Social Court and member of the Documentation Commission.
