Werner Ulbrich

Werner Ulbrich (born September 28, 1939 in Neumarkt / Silesia ) is a former German CDU politician . He was a member of the Suhl District Council from 1970 to 1990 and a member of the Thuringian State Parliament from 1990 to 1999 .

After the Second World War, Ulbrich came as a refugee via Mittweida to Steinbach-Hallenberg in the summer of 1945 , where he initially lived with his mother in the refugee camp. Schooled in September 1945, he passed his Abitur in 1957. He studied mining and graduated in 1961 as an engineer . During his studies he joined the Christian Democratic Union of Germany . After completing his studies, he worked at the VEB "Fluß- und Schwerspat Schmalkalden", most recently as sales director .

In 1970 he completed additional studies in the field of foreign trade and then worked for the Suhl District Council as head of recreation and tourism . In 1975, Ulbrich completed another degree as a state scientist .

Ulbrich was a member of the Suhl District Assembly for the Christian Democratic Union of Germany from 1962 to 1990. After the political change in the GDR , he was now in the Christian Democratic Union of Germany , from February 1990 on the party's state executive. He was government plenipotentiary for southern Thuringia until December 31, 1990. For the 1st electoral period 1990–1994 and in the 2nd electoral period 1994–1999 he was directly elected to the Thuringian state parliament, where he was involved in finance and tourism. For the 1999 state election he was no longer up for election.

In 2010 he was city councilor and second alderman of the city of Suhl .

Ulbrich is Protestant, married and has two children.
