Weronika Alexejewna Timofejewa ( Russian Вероника Алексеевна Тимофеева ; born March 31, 1982 in Tambov ) is a Russian cross-country skier and biathlete .

Weronika Timofejewa lives in Moscow , where she starts for Dynamo Moscow . At the end of 2001 she contested her first international race in Krasnogorsk . Within a short time, the Russian was able to continuously improve her performance until she made her debut in the cross-country world cup in Kawgolowo at the beginning of January 2003 . Timofejewa achieved 23rd place in the free technique in the 5 km race and won his first World Cup points in the first race. It should be her only use in the World Cup. In the following years Timofejewa could not confirm her achievements. Neither in races of the Continentel Cup, the FIS or in Russian championships, she was able to place with a few exceptions. The only major events in which she took part were the 2003 Winter Universiades in Tarvisio and 2007 in Pragelato . In Tarvisio, Timofejewa was able to win the silver medal in the mass start race in the free technique and only had to admit defeat to Valentina Shevchenko . It was also her best result in an international race.

Timofejewa also takes part in biathlon races, but has not yet been able to compete on an international level. However, she became known when she tested positive for the doping agent EPO at the Russian championships in 2009 . She was banned from the Russian Federation for two years.
