Wesselin Dikow ( Bulgarian Веселин Диков ; born February 21, 1998 in Sofia ) is a Bulgarian ice hockey player who has been active for the Ontario Hockey Academy since 2014.

Career

Wesselin Dikow began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of HC Levski Sofia . From 2011 to 2014 he played for local rivals HC Slawia Sofia in the Bulgarian junior leagues. In 2012 and 2013 he won the Bulgarian U16 championship with the club and the country’s U18 championship in 2013 and 2014. Since 2014 he has been playing and training at the Ontario Hockey Academy in Canada.

International

In the junior division, Dikow played for Bulgaria at the U18 World Championships in 2013 , 2014 , 2015 and 2016 , when he was voted the best player on his team, and the U20 World Championships in 2014 and 2016 , when he had the best plus / minus balance of the tournament , each in Division III.

With the Bulgarian men's national team , Dikow took part in the World Championship of Division II 2016 for the first time. Despite two goals, he could not prevent the relegation of the Bulgarians, although he kept his team in the decisive game against Israel with the goal for the interim 3-3 equalizer.
