Whangateau Harbor is a natural harbor in the Auckland Council urban areaon the North Island of New Zealand .

The Whangateau Harbor is located approximately 12 km northeast of Warkworth and around 21 kilometers east of Wellsford on the east coast of Northland Peninsula . The natural harbor has three inlets, of which the south-facing one is 6.3 km long, the west-facing one is assigned to the Omaha River and is 5.1 km long measured from the port entrance, and the north-facing one is around 2.2 km long km is the shortest of the three arms. At its widest point, the body of water extends to 1.9 km and has a total coastline of around 27.6 km in length. The port entrance is about 160 m wide in relation to the port width.
The small town of Omaha is located on the entire headland that separates the natural harbor from Omaha Bay .
You can reach the Whangateau Harbor on one of Warkworth branching out to the northeast highway that Matakana Road is called and after the settlement Matakana in the Leigh Road passes and up to the village of Leigh leads on the east coast.
