Who'd Have Known is a song by British pop singer Lily Allen . The song was released on November 30, 2009 as the fifth and final single from Allen's second studio album It's Not Me, It's You . He was the fourth single in Great Britain .

The song was used as a sample for T-Pain's song 5 O'Clock , in which Lily Allen is also involved as a guest performer.

Before Allen released the song, she posted it on MySpace under the name Who'd of Known . The song had initially not allowed to appear on the album, as the chorus to the song very Shine by Take That was similar to what, according to Allen but was not intentional. The band gave their permission and they became co-writers of the song.

Reviews

When the album was released, Jody Rosen, a writer for Rolling Stone magazine, named the song a potential single. Neil McCormik, of the Daily Telegraph , said that from this song one can recognize "that Lily Allen is real and shows parts of her real life."

Music video

The music video for Who'd Have Known was released on November 30, 2009. Allen plays an obsessed fan of Elton John . In the video, she kidnaps him and forces him to love her. But when she falls asleep on the sofa in front of the television , Elton John manages to escape. The video was directed by James Caddick.

Charts

Although the song made it into the Top 40 in the UK , Who'd Have Known was the lowest of Lily Allen's eight chart singles to date.
