The Vienna Hofburg Orchestra is a classical orchestra based in Vienna .

The Vienna Hofburg Orchestra was founded in 1971 by the Austrian conductor and trumpeter Gert Hofbauer . The ensemble consists of 36 professional musicians from all major Viennese orchestras and the international vocal soloists Andrea Olah ( soprano ), Kayo Takemura (soprano), Ella Tyran (soprano), Elena Suvorova ( mezzo-soprano ), Oskar Hillebrandt ( baritone ), Georg Lehner (baritone) ), Peter Edelmann (baritone) and Bohan Choe ( tenor ).

The Hofburg Orchestra's concert season lasts from May to the end of December. On the evening of December 31st and January 1st every year the Hofburg Orchestra organizes traditional New Year's and New Year's concerts. The program consists of well-known melodies from waltz and operetta music by Johann Strauss , Emmerich Kálmán and Franz Lehár as well as operatic arias and duets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart .

The venues are the ballroom and the redoutes halls of the Vienna Hofburg , as well as the Wiener Konzerthaus and the Wiener Musikverein .
