Werner D'Inka
Werner D'Inka (born November 16, 1954 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German journalist and former editor of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung .
Career
education
He grew up in Markgräflerland and obtained his Abitur in 1974 at the Hans-Thoma-Gymnasium in Lörrach . D'Inka studied journalism, politics and history at the Universities of Mainz and Berlin .
In 1980 he started at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, initially in the Tele-FAZ department. In 1991, he became head of duty there . In March 2005 D'Inka succeeded Dieter Eckart as co-editor alongside Günther Nonnenmacher , Frank Schirrmacher , Berthold Kohler and Holger Steltzner and was primarily responsible for the regional section.
On January 28, 2020, the FAZ announced that D'Inka will retire at the end of March. Carsten Knop was appointed as his successor as editor of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung .
In addition to his work at the FAZ, he is active as President of the Frankfurt Press Club , as honorary director of the Independent Russian-German Institute for Journalism in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don and as a member of the advisory board for the network for Eastern Europe reporting n-ost .
University professor
D'Inka is professor for the editorial management department at the Berlin University of the Arts and also teaches there on the further education course in cultural journalism . He regularly takes on teaching positions at the Universities of Giessen and Siegen .
