Vienna's No.1 is an Austrian punk band from Vienna .

Band history

Vienna's No.1 was founded in 2001 around the singer Stefan. The name is based on the band's first rehearsal and a piece by their old guitarist. He was with Oi! From 1993 to 2002 . -Band Panzerknacker active. Over the years there have been several line-up changes, so that Stefan was the only constant in the band. The first album … now red ma amoi Tacheles was released in 2004 via DSS Records . A year later, the second album Punks & Skins & Rock'n'Roller followed via Sunny Bastards .

In 2008 a split EP with Habit Drinkers was released .

The third work followed in 2009 … rampant , again via Sunny Bastards. With the song Zug nach Nowhere , the band alludes to the transports to Auschwitz and thus positions itself against the right.

In 2013, Stefan took part in the charity project Wilde Flamme , which led to disputes within the band, which wanted to break up shortly afterwards, as all members except Stefan left the band. For the fourth album ... never say never! the band changed with new members to the riot brothers label KB-Records .

On August 11, 2017, the band released the album Des Kaisers new songs on the band's own label Triumvirate Records. In the same year the band played on the GOND and Ehrlich & Laut .

In 2019 he switched to the Frei.Wild label Rookies & Kings . The sixth album Herz aus Stein was released there on April 17, 2020 .

Music genre

Vienna's No.1 began as a continuation of the Viennese punk / Oi! Band Panzerknacker and played a mixture of street punk and Oi! . There are also influences from Ska and especially in later years from German rock . The band positions itself against Nazis and as a scene band that works in various subcultures, from Oi! via ska to rockabilly is present.
