Krawallbrüder (proper spelling: Krawallbrüder ) is a Founded in 1993, Oi - band from the Saarland . In her music she uses elements from the fields of Oi, rock , punk , metal and influences from the hardcore punk area.

Band history

Pascal live on July 31, 2010 on the Force Attack

Founded as "Frontal" in 1993, the band consisted of three schoolmates Pascal (vocals, bass), Olli (guitar) and "Pimmel" (drums). They played five concerts together until in 1995, at a city festival concert in Saarlouis, they had problems with the protection of the constitution . He had mistaken the band for the right-wing extremist combo "Frontal" and finally stopped the investigation after further investigations. In order to prevent further undesirable mix-ups, the band renamed itself "KrawallBrüder". In the same year the drummer "Pimmel" left the band and was replaced by Marko. Furthermore, guitarist "Ketten" came into the band, who now acted as lead guitarist . A demo recording called Jodelexplosion was made, which brought the band an offer for a single production on Walzwerk Records. Olli left the band before the single recording and was replaced by "Matsch". Many concerts followed, including with the bands SpringtOifel , Loikaemie , Charge 69 , Patriot and Loaded. In 1998 they recorded an album that was never released because the band split that year due to a musical disagreement.

In March 2001 the band got together again after a three-year “break” and now consisted of Pascal (guitar, vocals) and the two new members Marius (bass) and Markus (drums).

In 2002 two tracks appeared on the sampler Pogo, Parties & Promille , which were still from old material from the 1990s. In August of the same year, they released their first album entitled Die Fäuste Hoch on their own label KB-Records . On December 28, 2002, the new rhythm guitarist Michael died of cancer. The song For a Friend on In Dubio Pro Reo was dedicated to him.

The band spent the year 2003 largely with concerts and promotions for their album. In October the rhythm guitarist Florian joined the band. In December, the first edition of the album was sold out, after which the band had 1000 copies in digipak format .

From July to August 2004 the "KrawallBrüder" toured with the Berlin band Berliner Weisse . On the tour they promoted their split album Zwiespältig , which contains live recordings of the two bands.

In 2005 some concerts were played and in December the album In Dubio Pro Reo , which was recorded in the Death Tone Studio, was released. In the course of the in-dubio CD, old material from the 1990s was also re-produced under the name Auf alten Tage . The cover of the "Böse Menschen, Böse Lieder LP" by the band Böhse Onkelz served as a model for this album cover .

In 2006 the band toured Italy, Switzerland, Spain, France and Germany. After the tour, Marius decided to leave the band and was replaced by Alex.

In 2007 the brothers were the first German Oi band to play in Istanbul .

In 2008 Alex had to leave the band due to discrepancies and was replaced by Swen on bass. Markus left the band for health reasons and "Stöbi" ("Martens Army") jumped on the drums as a replacement for about a year until Thomas took over the drums as a permanent member of the band in 2009. In the same year, after a four-year album break, the album Das 11te Gebot was released, also produced in the same studio and released on the in-house label . The album was presented during the Das 11te Gebot tour , which went through Germany, Austria and Switzerland from November 12th to 30th, 2009. The tour support was provided by the English punk rockers around John Robb and Goldblade.

In 2010 and 2011, the band spent most of the time with concerts and performances at various festivals.

KrawallBrüder on the "Blood, Sweat & No Tears" Tour 2012 - Berlin

On March 30, 2012, the new album Blut, Schweiss & keine Tränen was released, which entered the Media Control album charts at number 15 and stayed in the top 100 for two weeks. At the same time, the band started their five-week tour with the US hardcore band Slapshot through Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In autumn 2012 another 14 concerts were combined under the name "Blood, Sweat & No Tears - Autumn Tour".

In 2013 the band celebrated their 20th anniversary and recorded the album "Pain-Free" at SU2 Studios (including Powerwolf ) towards the end of the year .

On 31 January 2014, the album was released painless , which debuted at number 5 in the German album charts and four weeks in the Top 100 held. The band again played a tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland on which they accompanied the guys from Goitzsche Front. Various festivals were also played.

The album Venganza came out on February 20, 2015 . Then the band went on tour together with the pagan metal band Varg .

With “Today-Morning-Forever”, the Krawall brothers release a kind of best-of album with 23 songs from the band's history to date, either re-recorded or remastered, to which five new tracks have been added. This compilation entered the official German album charts at number 6. A tour in spring and autumn followed.

From June to October the album "mehr hass" was recorded in the SU2 studio with producer Phil Hillen, which was released in 2017 on Soulfood Music (Sony Group). In October the band also produced the acoustic mini-album Unverhohlen & Unverzerrt , which was mixed and mastered in the SU2 studio, which was released on KB Records at the same time as the new studio album on January 6, 2017.

Others

The band is also the organizer of the “Back on the Streets” concert and festival series.

Your video for "Blood and Ink" was shot in the Nuremberg rock pub "Brown Sugar".

Discussion about legal openness

The band has donated to various organizations for years, e. B. for victims of child abuse, victims of right-wing violence, child cancer aid.

During the tour for the album Blut, Schweiss & keine Tränen , the band intended to donate the proceeds from the tour to the anti-right-wing association Laut gegen Nazis . As a precaution, however, the donation was refused by the association with reference to alleged right-wing contacts of the band. However, the band vehemently denied these contacts, stating that no evidence could be found for them. Organizations belonging to the left-wing spectrum in particular referred to the band's alleged legal openness and their contacts to the right-wing scene.

There were also discussions about an SS skull tattoo with a blue eye by singer Pascal. The band said that the SS skull was designed in such a way that it should be understood as a "demarcation from the extreme right". In addition, the band's biography says that there were contacts with right-wing skinheads in Saarlouis when they were founded.

At the beginning of 2015 the band hit the headlines because they were booked together with the also controversial band Frei.Wild for a festival near a refugee home in Burbach . In connection with this, the tattoo of the singer was discussed again. Critics assumed that some bands were close to right-wing extremism. The festival had to be canceled in the end.

Also on the occasion of the Veganza tour in 2015 there were press reports and letters to the editor worried about the band's upcoming performances and their supposed openness to the law.

Critics of the band also point out that bands with right-wing content were distributed via the record labels of the riot brother frontman Pascal Gaspard. As an example of this, the Saxon band “Gerbenok” is cited, whose song Die neue Hippies is interpreted as racist at this point. Riot brothers frontman Pascal Gaspard defended Gerbenok and continues to advertise their album on the website of the record company. The no less controversial band “Bakers dozen” was vehemently defended against allegations regarding their right-wing background on the occasion of a concert tour.

In spite of all these allegations, the band repeatedly emphasizes in their statements the rejection of any political extremes.
