Berliner Weisse is an Oi! -Punk band from Berlin , which made their first appearances in the same year. The band, initially unnamed, only named itself on this occasion, after a night of partying with exactly this drink and its origin, in Berliner Weisse , a beer specialty from the federal capital.

style

Berliner Weisse sing in their songs about typical skinhead themes such as the so-called “way of life” of being a skinhead, excessive alcohol consumption and, unlike what is often the case in the “scene”, do not necessarily take themselves too seriously. The socially critical texts also show that you don't just want to fixate on "fucking - drinking - oi!" They distance themselves from Nazi bands , especially with songs like Keine Toleranz , Fahnen im Wind and Thor Steinar .

history

Since mid-2003 the band has been playing in the permanent line-up with Vale on bass, Kai on drums, Majo on guitar and Toifel on vocals and guitar. For the previous two albums, Nightmare and Unmusical, on KB Records , a live split LP was released in 2004 with the Krawall brothers . This year the band went on their first tour across Germany with the same band from Saarland. For their second tour with the Eastside Boys in 2006, the DVD Hymns for the Backyards was released in July 2007. In 2009 the third album In Toifels Küche came out on Bandworm Records .

In 2011 the album Oi! Vision Songcontest , a split CD with the Gumbles , on which mainly classics such as B. King of Germany from Rio Reiser or songs by David Hasselhoff , were covered or accompanied by new texts.
