Meadow park

The Wiesenpark is a natural, around 23  hectare park in the Marzahn district of Berlin in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district . It is located between Landsberger Allee in the north, Wuhle in the east, Eisenacher Straße in the south and the Landsberger Tor residential area in the west and is part of the Wuhletal landscape park .

description

There are two playgrounds in the park: The Wiesentraum playground is characterized by 200 trunks of locust trees , which form an artificial forest that, together with nets, ropes and play equipment, forms an adventure landscape. The Blauer Wuhl playground is grouped around a whale-like play sculpture ("the blue Wuhl"), which contains climbing frames, a slide and numerous play elements. There is also a larger pond hidden behind trees and bushes in the park, as well as a bridge and a viewing platform. The boardwalk leads to an elevation dominated by a large wooden sofa. A promenade with balconies leads along the western edge of the park, offering a wide view of the park. In addition, there are numerous artistically designed elements and large flat areas in the green area.

history

Blauer Wuhl playground

The meadow park was designed by the landscape architects Bauermeister Koehler Pütz group F - landscape architecture open spaces and in 1997 was awarded the 1st prize in an international landscape architecture competition by the Landsberger Tor development company (ELT).

In 2015 and 2016 the park was renewed in preparation for the IGA 2017 as part of the urban redevelopment east , the Wiesentraum playground and the southern entrance were redesigned. After the raised beds on Landsberger Allee were dismantled , a new prelude to the park was also created. The beaten track on Eisenacher Straße was given an asphalt ceiling, and a small square with seating was created, which is structured by gabions , steel walls and bamboo . The renovation of the Wiesentraum playground in 2015 cost 175,000  euros from the Urban Redevelopment East program, 80 trunks had to be renewed, 30 of them were carved with wood and glazed in shades of green. The work has been completed since June 2016 and the square was inaugurated on August 30, 2016 in the presence of Marzahn-Hellersdorf City Councilor Christian Gräff and the members of the landscape architecture office. Children from the Adventure Land day-care center also came to this event and proved that the course also offers many play options for preschoolers. The new starting point on Landsberger Allee next to the tram station has also been open to visitors to the park since August 2016 .
