Wigg Siegl

Wigg Siegl (* 1911 ; † 1994 ; actually Ludwig Siegl ) was a German draftsman, caricaturist and illustrator.

Siegl lived and worked in Munich . He characterized himself as a "trained pencil sharpener and drawing paper consumer, tie-gruff, non-smoker and passionate patanque player."

From 1955 to 1967 he was a permanent member of the Simplicissimus ; from 1969 he drew for ACE Lenkrad, Stern , Quick , Spiegel , Süddeutsche Zeitung and Welt am Sonntag . Advertising graphics and book illustrations were further fields of activity of the detailed draftsman who received the 1969 Dr. Josef Drexel Prize for artistic press drawings.

Wigg Siegl has exhibited in Munich, Berlin , Recklinghausen and Bordighera and in 1969 had a solo exhibition in the Wilhelm Busch Museum in Hanover .
