Viktor Volodymyrovych Neborak ( Ukrainian Віктор Володимирович Неборак ; born May 9, 1961 in Ivano-Frankowe near Lviv , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian poet, writer, translator, literary critic, essayist and musician. He currently lives and works in Lviv.

Life

Viktor Neborak graduated from the Faculty of Philology at the Ivan Franko National University in Lviv in 1983 . From 1986 to 1989 he was a doctoral candidate at the Taras Shevchenko Literature Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kiev , where he taught Ukrainian language and literature. After receiving his doctorate, he accepted a position as a research assistant at the Lviv branch of the Taras Shevchenko Literature Institute in September 1991. In the same year he became a member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine . He has been a senior research assistant since 2009.

He is married to Jaryna Sentschyschyn , poet and translator for Polish-Ukrainian, and has three daughters.

From 1995 to 1999 Neborak organized literary evenings under the name Tretje Tysjačolittja (in German: The Third Millennium ) in Lviv.

His first works, e.g. B. Burštynovyj čas , have a romantic and sentimental, but also ironic character. Lviv is often the main theme.

The anthology Litajuča holova is a “carnival book” in which chaos and masquerade reign. It was the first book in Ukrainian literature that is permeated with eroticism and sexuality.

Viktor Neborak founded the literary group Bu-Ba-Bu together with Yuriy Andrukhovych and Oleksandr Irvanets . He is also a member of the literary group Psy Svjatoho Jura . The poetic band Litajuča holova was brought to the stage by Bu-Ba-Bu in the form of a masked ball in the Lviv Opera House and in the Kiev Academic Youth Theater. Since this performance, postmodern and neo-baroque have also been spoken of in this context .

Alter Ego , another anthology by Neborak, has a lyrical and meditative effect.

The volume Rozmova zi sluhoju is a continuation of the book Litajuča holova . This anthology has a more serious and conservative character. Autumn motifs, feelings of peace and calm are defining here.

The novel Bazilevs was initially published in extracts under the titles Pan Bazjo ta rešta and U pošukach Bazilevsa .

In addition to prose and poetry, he wrote scientific monographs and articles as well as literary reviews and critiques .

Wiktor Neborak is also into rock music, so he released an audio cassette entitled Neborok (1995).
