Wilfried Grunendahl (born December 20, 1952 in Tecklenburg - Ledde ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

After attending the secondary school in Lengerich and the technical college in Münster , Grunendahl studied civil engineering at the Münster University of Applied Sciences .

In 1972 he joined the CDU. From 1979 to the end of 2006 he was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Tecklenburg city council.

In 1978, together with his brother, he founded a concrete product manufacturing and sales company for horticultural supplies and has been working in his own company since then. On June 8, 2005, Grunendahl became a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament. He was not a member of the state parliament elected in 2010. After the failure of the SPD minority government, he returned to the state parliament in the state elections on May 13, 2012 via the CDU state list. He did not run again for the state election on May 16, 2017.

Since 1984 he has also been a member of the district assembly in Steinfurt and has been deputy chairman of the CDU district assembly since 1994. In October 2005 he took over the group chairmanship.

Wilfried Grunendahl was chairman of the CDU city association Tecklenburg until the beginning of 2011 (all in all for over 20 years). In addition, Grunendahl is a board member of the CDU district association Steinfurt.

He was particularly active in the coal mining industry in Ibbenbüren.

Private

Wilfried Grunendahl is married and has two grown children. In his spare time, reading and hiking are among his favorite pursuits.
