Wilhelm Adam Lulay

Wilhelm Adam Lulay (born October 4, 1901 in Heppenheim (Bergstrasse) , † January 26, 1974 ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Lulay worked from 1923 to 1927 as a state secretary at the Windthorstbund in Baden and then worked in the financial administration. After the National Socialists came to power, he was dismissed, was initially unemployed and later worked as a cook. From 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier and was most recently taken prisoner by the US, from which he was released in 1946.

After his release from captivity, Lulay first worked as an employee at the tax office in Karlsruhe . In 1947 he took up a job as a union secretary at ÖTV and had been a department head on the union's main board since 1949.

Political party

Lulay joined the CDU and was chairman of the Christian Democratic Workers' Union (CDA) in North Baden since 1952 .

MP

Lulay belonged to the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1957 and again from February 23, 1959, when he succeeded the new Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg Kurt Georg Kiesinger , until 1961.
