Wilhelm August Hoyer

Wilhelm August Hoyer (born March 31, 1890 in Hanover , † 1948 in Tranøy in Norway ) was a German biologist and doctor .

Life

Wilhelm August Hoyer was the son of the geologist and palaeontologist building officer Wilhelm Hoyer, who was a professor at the Hanover Technical University . He studied medicine and natural sciences in Lausanne, Munich, Kiel and Göttingen, where he - in the middle of the First World War - in 1917 with his dissertation on cold damage and cold death of the striated mammalian muscle as a Dr. phil. received his doctorate.

At the time of the Empire , Hoyer was still doing his military service in Germany as a member of a German-Norwegian family of officials.

After the First World War , Hoyer built a house in Norway.

After the position of a district doctor was newly established in the district of the Norwegian city of Tranøy in the autumn of 1930, Wilhelm August Hoyer took over these tasks, which he also performed for the municipality of Dyrøy until his death . He lived in Langhamn with his family . A portrait photograph of the doctor has been preserved in the Midt-Troms Museum .
