In 1865, Wrede bought the Britz manor in Berlin-Britz (today part of the Berlin district of Neukölln ) from the Royal Archives Councilor Friedrich Adolf Riedel (1809–1872), which he had acquired in 1862. The Crown Prince Friedrich (later Emperor Friedrich III.) And the tree nursery owner (and later State Economist) Franz Ludwig Späth had tried, albeit in vain, to acquire the manor. In 1880 Wrede renovated and rebuilt the manor house. In 1890 he had the garden inspector Wilhelm Nahlop equip the associated park with typical elements of the garden art of the time.

In the years 1868 to 1871 Wrede had his retirement home, the Juliusburg, built in what would later become Juliusstrasse in what is now the Neukölln district .

Honors

The former Wredebrücke (locally also called Rudower Bridge), bridge number 48 in the list of bridges over the Teltow Canal and Juliusstrasse are named after him in Berlin .
