Wilhelm Brunotte

Friedrich Wilhelm Gottlieb Brunotte (born December 5, 1844 in Nöschenrode , † November 30, 1924 in Hamburg / Elbe ) was a German teacher and local researcher.

Life

Brunotte came from a suburb of Wernigerode and attended the local lyceum until 1861. From 1864 to 1867 he was trained at the teachers' college in Barby and became a provisional second teacher at the elementary school in Neinstedt . After successfully passing the second teaching examination in 1870, Brunotte was permanently employed.

In 1873 Brunotte successfully applied for a position at the Bürgererschule (later grammar school) in Neuhaldensleben , where he worked until he retired in 1912. In 1922 he moved to live with his daughter in Harburg, where he died two years later.

In his spare time, Brunotte, who was a member of the Aller Association, dealt intensively with local history and presented several publications.
