Kevin Schwabe

Kevin Schwabe (born October 1, 1990 ) is a German wrestler . He became German light heavyweight champion in free style in 2011 .

Career

Kevin Schwabe started wrestling at ASV Dieburg as a teenager in 1996 . He concentrated on the free style. After successes gradually set in, the 1.84 meter tall athlete, who is in the light heavyweight category up to 96 kg body weight, switched to KSV Seeheim , KSC Hösbach and ASV Mainz . Since 2010 he has been wrestling again for KSC Hösbach. He is mainly trained by Jens Gündling and the national coach Alexander Leipold .

Kevin Schwänke was already very successful in the youth field and won five German championship titles in these age groups. In 2009 he took 2nd place at the German junior championship in the light heavyweight division behind Johannes Kessel from KSV Berghausen . In 2011 he succeeded before William Harth from TKSV 1906 Duisdorf and Nico Graf from KFC Leipzig and Viktor Reh RKG Freiburg 2000 German light heavyweight champion.

Kevin Schwabe's international wrestling career began in 2006 when he took 12th place in the category up to 85 kg at the European Junior Championships (Cadets) in Istanbul . He took the same place at the European Junior Championships 2007 in Warsaw in the same weight class. After an 8th place at the European Junior Championships in 2008 in Košice in the light heavyweight division, he managed a significant increase at the Junior World Championships this year in Istanbul, because he came there in the same weight class on an excellent 5th place.

After winning the German championship title in 2011, he was also used at the European Championships in Dortmund . He came there to a victory over Leon Rattigan from Great Britain , but lost in his next fight very close on points (1: 2 rounds, 3: 3 points) against Belduki Gawaschelishvili from Georgia and retired. He placed himself on the 9th place.

In 2012 Kevin Schwänke was also used at the European Championships in Belgrade . There he had to admit defeat in his first fight against Iwan Jankowski from Belarus and came in 13th place.
